Assistant Driller

Position: Assistant Driller 

Location: Malaysia

• Must have a current certificate of proficiency by an accredited well control school. (IWCF Level 3). 
• Must have one-year experience as a Derrick man 
• Ensuring the correct alignment of well control manifolds/equipment at the start of each tour and after testing of well control equipment. 
• Ensure all drilling tools and associated equipment is in proper working order prior to use. 
• Assist in the evaluation the performance of the drill crew. 
• Undertakes maintenance and inspection of drilling equipment and derricks in conjunction with the Derrick man. 
• Performs the set up and serves as the primary operator of drilling equipment within the guidelines of company policy and scheduled work program as determined by the customer. 
• Assists in the training of the drill crew on the optimum safe performance of their job duties. 
• Assists third party company personnel with preparation of drilling equipment used by drill crew. 
• Manually logs all drilling operations to include what and when work is performed, the equipment used to drill the well, and the detailed scheduled maintenance record of drill line ton miles. 
• Must have knowledge of all well control guidelines. 
• Undertakes emergency duties as per the emergency Station Bill. 
• Undertakes audits and inspection as per IDSB audit and inspection procedures. 
• Participate fully in all safety initiatives and safety programs. 
• Participates in all safety meetings, including weekly, pre-tour and pre-job/toolbox meetings.

Toolpusher

Position: Tool Pusher

• Must have a minimum of eight years relevant experience as Driller, Assistant Driller, Derrick man and/or Floor hand with at least two years as Driller or Assistant Driller. 
• Assist the OIM in conjunction with customer representatives to make technical decisions based on rig capabilities and company policies. 
• Responsible for management, training and evaluation of employees. 
• Compile a morning report containing an accurate summary of the previous 24 hours operations. The report shall also contain information on incidents, account of drilling equipment, bulk supplies and other relevant information. 
• Responsible for keeping the OIM informed of critical operations decisions and potential problems. 
• Participates and contributes to the objectives described in the RIG’s Annual Plan. 
• Must be proficient in technology as it relates to offshore drilling units.
