Instrument & Control Engineer

Position: Instrument & Control Engineer
Location: Korea & Myanmar
Commence: Q4 2019
Duration: Yearly basis
Criteria:
  • BSc. / MSc. / MEng.  or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • Preferably a Registered Professional, Chartered Engineer or member of Professional Engineering Society
  • Minimum 15 years of work experience of which at least 10 years must be in the upstream Offshore Oil & Gas industry
  • Previously worked on integrated projects with CAPEX in excess of $100MM.
  • Preference for previous experience working for an Oil and Gas Operator in a client oversight team during FEED and EPCIC stages of an offshore project
  • Preference for previous experience working on projects which include brownfield scope of work, particularly in respect to tie-in of new facilities into existing platform control systems
  • Previous experience of gas turbine/compressor instruments and control systems is considered favorable

Critical Technical Skills and Capabilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the design, specification, selection, and procurement of instrumentation and control system items typically found in the offshore oil and gas project environment.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of basic instrumentation and control equipment including flow, level, pressure and temperature devices. Also be able to demonstrate good understanding of both hardware and software I&C configurations.
  • Exhibits good knowledge on field instrumentation (transmitters, control/SD valves, analyzers, F&G detectors) DCS, ESD/F&G Systems, Package PLCs, Anti Surge Control Systems, Metering Systems, Turbine/Compressor Control Systems, Real Time Information Systems and various types of control schemes/principles
  • Good knowledge of process safety instrumentation systems design including SIL theory
  • Good knowledge on materials and material selection for in-line instrumentation
  • Knowledgeable of electrical systems for instrumentation, including cabling, wiring methods, grounding, materials, control circuits. In addition, hazardous area design implementation shall be part of candidate’s experience
  • Very knowledgeable with a wide variety of national and international standards, especially related to ISA, ANSI, ASME, API, NFPA and IEC
  • Must possess a good understanding of the basic discipline work processes of a FEED and EPCIC project
  • Must be well versed with relevant international codes and standards(e.g. IEEE, IEC, AGA, ISA etc.)

  • Ability to oversee work and provide mentoring to inexperienced engineers
