Cost Estimator

Position: Cost Estimator
Location: West Malaysia
Commence: Q1 2020
Duration: 1year with extension option
Criteria:
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry in this required specific role.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills. Full command of oral and written English.
  • Proficient in specific cost control software packages (VOWD, S Curve, milestones etc).
  • Understand the corporate and project(s) specific cost procedures and carry out all work in accordance with these.
  • Study and understand all relevant project documents relating to cost management such as Drawing, Material and Request, Purchase Order, Delivery Order, MRIR, Work Order, Action Notice etc. (Compile all documentation needed).
  • Work with all relevant project personnel to ensure that cost estimation and control procedures are in place.
  • Assisting the project manager in identifying and gaining approval of estimates/change requests.
  • Reviewing cost commitment and expenditure information for all cost elements, for input to the computerized cost control and reporting system on a consistent basis and ensuring that all information received is accurate and correctly input.
  • Producing regular cost reports and advising management of any forecast cost overruns as soon as possible to allow corrective actions to be taken in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining comprehensive accessible registers of financial approvals, variations and change orders.
  • Liaising with the finance department with regards to establishing monthly evaluation of work done, goods received and services rendered for invoice preparation and verification.
  • Provide cost control and planning advice to the internal PMT team as and when required
  • Assisting the Construction Supervisor (EQ) to consolidate MTO for material budgetary (Shutdown Work).
  • Contact Supplier to get the quotation
  • Prepare summaries for shutdown material tracking.
  • Responsible to control and monitor project total expenditure including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
  • Provide  planning and cost controlling support for all projects which includes variation reporting, monitoring billing processes, etc
  • Coordinate and work with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery/completion of the project work.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as required.
  • Contact suppliers to ensure that all dropship purchase orders were received and that deliveries will ship on time
  • Determining materials and supply needs through technical details and schedules.
  • Managing the orders for materials and equipment to meet the project requirements.
  • Coordinating the delivery of supplies according to priorities and specifications.
  • Key in price for Inventory Master List
  • Participate in physical inventory check
  • Review the MMIL if have discrepancies of description, type, dimension etc.
  • Assisting the QAQC Inspector for fabrication summary for their updated (RN, COG)
  • Prepared list of drawing which spool had done fabricate.
